803rd Engineers on the Border

     803rd Engineers travel to New Mexico for their Annual Training to help the US Border Patrol construct an anti-vehicle barricade near Columbus NM. The controlled border crossing sees a lot of traffic - not all of it on the up and up. The US Border Patrol regularly turn back dozens, sometimes hundreds of illegal immigrants each day. The Guardsmen also helped build homes for the Navajo Housing Authority.     More...

Jumpmasters Take National Guard Training To New Heights

    National Guard green berets from Company A 1-19th Special Forces, headquartered in Buckley WA worked alongside their active duty counterparts this past May to conduct a Jumpmaster Course.

The instructors also participated in an update of the course for the Army that more closely address the needs of Special Forces.     More...

122nd MPAD Journalists win Keith L. Ware Awards

     The 122nd Mobile Public Affairs Detachment (MPAD), headquartered in Tacoma WA, has certainly had a high OPTEMPO these past several years. With deployments to Bosnia (97), Kosovo/Macedonia (00) and Iraq 04-05, the members of this award-winning unit are combat tested, and have had plenty of opportunity to report on US combat actions from the front. Recently 5 members of the 122nd were recognized for their excellence in journalism, and received the Army's Keith L. Ware Aware for Journalism.    More...
