[Class 41] ['98 "Fast Track"] [Class 42] [Co B, 1-205th Bn (GS)]
Five new Second Lieutenants were recently commissioned through the Officer Candidate School, run by Company B, 1st Battalion, 205th Regiment (Leadership) headquartered on Camp Murray near Ft. Lewis. These new 2LT's are listed below in the order they are pictured, left to right:
2LT Roy W. Habedank of Bothell will be assigned to HHC, 181st Support Battalion, headquartered in Seattle. He is married and 35 years of age.
2LT Grant W. Kaufman of Kenniwick will be assigned to Company A, 1/303rd Armor Battalion headquartered in Pasco. He is married and 29 years of age.
2LT Jamie T. Quintanilla of Olympia will be assigned to Troop E, 303rd Cavalry headquartered in Puyallup. He is married and 26 years of age. He attended Washington State University.
2LT Christian S. Lyle of Vancouver will be assigned to Company A, 1/19th Special Forces (Airborne) headquartered in Buckley. He is married and 28 years of age.
2LT Keith D. Hodson of Vashon Island will be assigned to HHC, 181st Brigade headquartered in Seattle. He is married and 33 years of age.
Two other soldiers, noted below, successfully completed Officer Candidate School, but were unable to accept their commissions at this time due to employment conflicts. Although not pictured here, they will receive their commissions at a later date. Congratulations to all seven of these outstanding "citizen soldiers", and good luck in your careers with the Washington Army National Guard!
SSG David S. Friedner of Tacoma is assigned to HHC, 201st Military Intelligence Battalion, an active Army battalion on Ft. Lewis. He is 33 years of age. (Not Pictured)
SSG Shane K. Gardner of Vancouver will be assigned to HHC, 341st Military Intelligence Battalion (Linguist) headquartered in Poulsbo. He is married, and 27 years of age. He attended Central Washington University, and served on active duty in the Military Intelligence field from 1992 to 1996. (Not Pictured)
