Officer Candidate School Class 42 Graduates

What do a Golf Pro, a Boeing Engineer, a Real Estate Agent and a Math Teacher have in common? They all were recently commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the Washington Army National Guard. After 17 months of challenging physical, mental and emotional training at the hands of the TAC Officers and NCO's of Company B, 1-205th Battalion (General Studies) these soldiers make the transition from "Candidate" to officer.
"Brave and Bold - Go for gold. And did we! Despite the monthly reality check of questions like "What am I doing here?" and "Why am I doing this?" each one of us resisted the continual temptation to give up. We've completed 17 arduous months of challenges both in the OCS program and in our personal lives. Life beyond the training schedule for some included losing over 20 lbs, changing our civilian jobs, and putting in lots of extra hours to complete our mission."
Muchas gracias to our kind families, to our compassionate friends, and to our beloved TAC's. Without all of your support, we would not now have the privilege of leading and caring for our Guardsmen.

2LT Lisa Browne, 31, is a resident of Renton, WA. She is currently assigned to HHC 181st Spt Bn and is scheduled to be assigned to HHC 341st MI Bn as a Military Intelligence officer. She works at the Recruiting & Retention Office on Camp Murray as a Special Projects Coordinator.

2LT Matt Chargualaf, 30, lives in Yakima, WA. He is currently assigned to the 116th Spt Ctr, and will transfer to the 2-146th FA Bn as an Artillery officer. 2LT Chargualaf works as an Electronics Mechanic at the MATES located at the Yakima Training Center.

2LT Kristin Dobbs, 25, is a resident of Moses Lake, WA. She is a Realtor Estate Agent and is currently assigned to the 951st Maint Co. 2LT Dobbs has been commissioned as Ordnance officer. She has not yet been assigned to her new unit.

2LT Steven Glenn, 28, is from Skyway, WA. He is a member of Troop E, 303rd Cav, and is an Engineer with Boeing. 2LT Glenn was commissioned as an Armor officer and will be transferring to Company D 1-303 Ar Bn.

2LT Marlon Gomez, 32, lives in Silverdale, WA. He is currently serving with Det 1, Company A 341st MI Bn. He will transfer to HHS 341st MI Bn as serve as a Military Intelligence officer. 2LT Gomez is a Water Quality Inspector for the state of Washington.

2LT Thomas Gregory, 27, is a resident of Burlington, WA. He has served with HHC 66th Avn Bde, and will now transfer to Company A, 1-185th Avn Bn to serve as an Aviation officer. He is a Social Services Counselor for Snohomish County.

2LT Brenden Kealy, 31, lives in Shelton, WA. He has been serving with HHC 1-168th Avn, and was commissioned as a Military Intelligence officer. 2LT Kealy was commissioned through the "Fast Track" program.

2LT Travis Kuntz, is 27 and a resident of Yelm, WA. He currently serves with the 286th Engr Co (recently redesignated Company B, 14th Eng). He will be transferred to HHC, 1-303rd Ar Bn as an Armor officer. 2LT Kuntz is a Math Teacher for the Olympia Public School District.

2LT David Libby, 31, lives in Bellingham, and is currently a member of Company C, 898th Eng Bn. He was commissioned as a Chemical officer and will be assigned to our new chemical battalion.

2LT Mark McElroy, 34, is a resident of Olympia. He currently serves with HHS 341st MI Bn, but will be transferred to Company A, 1-161st Inf Bn as an Infantry officer. 2LT McElroy is pursuing a Masters in Public Administration, and works as a Budget Officer for the USP&FO on Camp Murray. 2LT McElroy was commissioned through the "Fast Track" program.

2LT Mark Morton, 29, lives in Seattle. He is currently assigned to Company B, 341st MI Bn and works for Microsoft. 2LT Morton has been commissioned as an Engineer officer.

2LT Jack Mushallo, 30, is a resident of Lacey. He recently left active duty and recently served with HHC, 1-161st Inf Bn. He will be assigned to HHB, 2-146th FA as an Artillery officer. 2LT Mushallo works at a local golf course as a Golf Pro.

2LT Michael Snow, 30, lives in Lynden, WA. He has served with Company C, 898th Eng Bn and will now transfer to Company A of that battalion. 2LT Snow was commissioned as an Engineer officer. He is a college student and is pursuing his Masters in Mathematics.

2LT Michael Vincent, 27, is a resident of Spokane, WA. He was commissioned as a Chemical officer. He has served with Company C, 1-161st Inf Bn and will transfer to HHC 1-161st. 2LT Vincent was commissioned through the "Fast Track" program.
