Captain (CPT)

As a Captain, you may serve as a Company Commander or Staff officer on a Battalion or Brigade Staff.

Civilian Schooling: You must have Bachelor’s Degree to be promoted to Captain.

Military Schooling: You will attend the Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. This course will prepare you for duties as a Company Commander, Battalion/Brigade S-2, and Analysis and Control Element (ACE) Battle Captain. Training emphasis is on preparation for company command and staff duties at all echelons.

Assignment Duties: As a Company Commander you are in command of a Military Intelligence Company and are responsible for the oversight of operations and training, logistics, and welfare of the soldiers in your command. You will work closely with your First Sergeant and interact with the Battalion Staff for training and resources.

As a Staff Officer, you will work with the Battalion or Brigade Staff writing operation orders, and collecting, producing, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence products in support of the Commander’s mission. As a Military Intelligence Captain, you may also serve as the Battalion or Brigade S-2.
