The 66th Theater Aviation Command has units spread across 11 states and is one of only two Theater Aviation Commands in the Army. The 66th TAC utilizes both rotary wing, UH-60 Blackhawks, CH-47 Chinooks and OH-58 Kiowas, and fixed wing, C-23 Sherpas and C-12 Hurons to perform a wide variety of federal and state missions. The state missions include flood response, water bucket wildfire fighting, security and support and emergency response. 66th units from the Washington Army National Guard have served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Over 700 citizen soldiers from Washington State serve in the 66th TAC.
